Sheriff Donnie Harrison moved to Greene County in 1988 and has made his home here ever since. After completing eight years of service in the United States Army as a Military Policeman, Sheriff Harrison came to work for the Greene County Sheriff's Office in 1997. He served in many positions over the years, including Patrol Deputy, Jailer, Investigator and Commander of the Administrative Division under the administration of Sheriff Chris Houston. After the appointment of Chris Houston as the Superintendent of Greene County, Sheriff Harrison was sworn in as the Interim Sheriff. He was elected Sheriff of Greene County in a special election on May 24, 2016.
